Reunion

Reunion

At the beginning of 2007 gossip started being heard that the three would reunite for a tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary which started to build momentum. The concerts were timed to match with Universal Music re-releasing material from their back catalogue.

Side-Line, a punk magazine broke the story The Police would reunite for the Grammys and would be performing “Roxanne.” It went on to state that they would be embarking on a huge tour to cities all over the world, which added weight to the earlier rumours.

On 11th February in Los Angeles The Police opened the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, declaring, "We are The Police and we're back!" and then went straight into performing "Roxanne."
Universal Music, the owners of A&M Records, is promoting the tour as the 30th anniversary of the release of their first single.

The Police opened their tour in Vancouver on May 28 in front of 22,000 fans at one of two nearly sold-out concerts.
